Warby Parker

A couple years ago, I saw an Oprah makeover show that was all about how simply changing your eyeglasses can make you look yeeeeaaarrrrrrs younger. Remember that episode? Well, since that time I can say I’ve found that to be very true. The style of your eyeglasses can age you in seconds! If you happen to need an eyeglass makeover, check out this cool company called Warby Parker. Founded by 4 friends, their goal is to “create boutique-quality, classically crafted eyewear at a revolutionary price point.” The glasses are sold exclusively on the website and every pair is under $100!!!! And even better, for every pair of glasses purchased Warby Parker will donate a pair to someone in need. We love that! Recognizing that there are millions who do not have access to proper vision care, Warby Parker aspires to help eliminate this problem. *thumbs up!*

Another bonus: The website has virtual try-on, so you can upload a pic of yourself and “try on” glasses before you purchase. For more information visit warbyparker.com.

It’s a Belt Bag…not to be confused with a fanny pack! ;-)

When I’m out and about with the kiddos, I usually don’t feel like lugging around a big tote bag to hold my stuff and their snacks. I like to have my hands free, especially for quick trips to the store, post office, bank, etc. Normally I carry a small  wristlet. That works well but I have to remember not to put it down, and I don’t need anything else to remember these days! The other day while doing my routine floor walk before work, I came across this cute little Michael by Michael Kors belt bag. Love this! It’s very chic and simple with just the right amount of pop! Although the pouch is not very big, it can hold your driver’s license, credit/debit card, keys, a little bit of cash, cell phone, and a lipgloss. And the price is great…only $48! This cute little belt can be found in Nordstrom stores or nordstrom.com. Happy Shopping!!!

Trunki…luggage for little people

Well, if you’re the parent of smaller children (approximately 3-6 yrs old) you may want to consider getting your little one a Trunki. Trunki is the world’s first ride-on kid’s suitcase! Lightweight and durable, it’s wheeled design is perfect for little travelers as a carry-on, as well as a ride-on. This luggage is sure to make any trip lots of fun!! Check it out.

Cool Father’s Day Gifts!

We all know that Mother’s Day is a much BIGGER holiday than Father’s Day! While we do appreciate all of the love and showering of gifts and attention mommies, let’s not shortchange the guys. Dads need lots of love and showering too! Ever heard of the male ego? That thing needs to be stroked constantly. Lol!

We came up with some cool gift ideas for Father’s Day that DO NOT include cuff-links, ties, golf balls, wallets, socks, tool sets, grilling accessories, or coffee mugs. :-)

1. Race car lessons – For the thrill seeker!

2. Aldo shoes and/or accessories – For the fashion guy (great place to find cool shoes and accessories that won’t break your pockets)

3. Frederick’s of Hollywood gift card – Guys like sex! Agree that you’ll wear ANYTHING he picks out. We suggest pairing this gift with something else because this gift is for you too! ;-)

4. Guys night out – Send your guy and one or two of his friends out for a night on the town….that YOU pay for! It doesn’t have to be expensive, just somewhere they can go to have some man fun. :-)

5. Helicopter flight lesson – For the adventurer

6. Massage at the spa – For the hard worker who deserves to be celebrated!

These are just a few ideas. Use your creativity to make this Father’s Day unique. If you’re not the creative kind of girl ask a guy friend! Happy Shopping!!!

Doctor T’s Supergoop

Every morning I arrive to work about an hour early. So the first thing I do before getting my work started is walk the sales floor to see what’s new, what’s on sale, and what’s a cool new product I can try! During today’s morning walk, here’s what I found and I’m already a fan. Doctor T’s Supergoop.

Nordstrom

 Here’s the rundown:

  • Designed to soothe and protect from UV damage.
  • For sensitive skin (face and body).
  • Zinc oxide provides anti-irritating UV protection.
  • Green tea and vitamin E reduce irritation and redness and combat free-radical damage.
  • Helps to prevent signs of aging. (we LOVE that!)
  • Paraben-free.
  • 100% fragrance-free.
  • No greasy feeling.
  • Water-resistant.

Of course I tried a tester wipe and I loved it! So easy to apply. The travel size comes with 8 wipes so you can stick them in your purse and you use them when you need to. Nice to have when you and the kiddos are unexpectedly in the sun for an extended period of time. And best of all…..the travel pack is only $10!!!!! Betcha didn’t know Nordstrom carried ANYTHING that costs only $10! :-) (30 count wipes – $34)

WaterBobble

Ok…we get it! We need a gazillion gallons of water per day to be healthy. Many of us have accepted this to be true and make a conscious effort to consume our daily doses of H2O. *thumbs up* But if you’re buying bottled water regularly you are contributing to a separate issue – tons of plastic waste!

Instead of buying bottled water, consider investing in a reusable bottle like the one we found on UncommonGoods.com. It’s called the Filtered Water Bobble. Designed by Karim Rashid, this sleek bottle is made with recycled plastic. We love the look! We think it’s cool. It kind of looks like a chic baby bottle. :-) All you have to do is fill it up with tap water and the built-in filter takes out the stuff we don’t want. The filter is good for approximately 300 uses!! That’s 40 gallons of water. And best of all the Filtered Water Bobble is cheap! You can have one for only $10!!! (Replacement filters are $7.) This is great to have while you’re working out and tightening up those loose areas….as I know you ALL are! After all….it’s pool/beach season right?!? :-)

The Romper room…not just for skinny girls!

While we recognize that everyone CANNOT pull off a romper, we think it’s a least worth a try! You might like them…especially you gals with great legs. The old saying, “you can’t judge a book by it’s cover” definitely applies to fashion. The way an item looks on the hanger and how it looks on your body, is bound to be different!!! We think these rompers are great pieces for summer that can be worn by a variety of body types…not just the skinny girls! :-) And they’re super comfy. Great mommy gear!

Looking Good for Less

During this economy everyone is looking for ways to look good on a budget. Many women/moms don’t realize that they have the key ingredients to look radiant right in the comfort of their own home. Here are a few tips to keep you looking good for less!!!

Eyes Makeup Tips For free

Having good eyebrows is just half of the job. Shape your eyebrows with a little bit saliva (spit for the common people) and a well-trained finger. The more experienced “fingershaper” will notice that this solution also have a nice side-effect, it also epilates your eyebrows (of course it won’t work if you have Bert and Ernie eyebrows).

Create a “Smokey eyes” look by drawing a line around your eyes with a carbon pencil and blend it out carefully with a brush. Vague out the line with the brush halfway to the moving eyelid (don’t vague out till the eyebrow bone). At the down side of your eye, the color in the outside corner of your eye darker and becomes lighter in the inside corner of your eye.

Cheeks Makeup Tips For free

Your grandmother might have done it when you were a little kid: pinching your cheeks to give it some color. Professional makeup artist also use this method. Jogging or even some hot sex will also give you a healthy gloss on your cheeks.

Make a good blush by mixing some lipstick with your foundation. It will give a contrast with some powder blushes not a grey haze, but a healthy blush.

Lips Makeup Tips Free

A toothbrush is not only functional for brushing your teeth or brushing your eyebrows, you can even use it to gently scrub your lips. It will even give you a “Just been kissed” look.

If you are going to buy something, make sure you buy Vaseline. It’s perfect to style your eyebrows with it. You can put it on your cheekbones, use it as hand and feet creme and of course as lip gloss.

Skin Makeup Tips for free

Caffeine is a very important ingredient in a lot of anti-cellulitis cremes. But you can also use coffee grinds while you are in the shower. Just give yourself a good massage with the coffee grinds.

More Makeup Tips and Advice

Organize a makeup trade day and invite some friends over. Don’t forget to ask them to bring along their makeup. Everyone has stuff that at the moment they bought it, they were feeling like they can’t live without it, but changed their minds after purchasing it. So trade with your friends. Try to trade unused makeup.

Refrigerators and kitchen cabinets are a very good source for most of the free stuff for your hair. Beer (use it as shampoo), Olive oil (use it as a hair mask) and lemon juice (bleach your hair with it) are excellent stuff to put in your hair.
