Lucky Kids!

It’s no secret that Lucky Magazine is my favorite fashion mag! I think the fact that it’s all about shopping and I love to shop makes it the perfect magazine for me. And to further solidify my unwavering love, I opened the April issue only to discover an issue of Lucky Kids! YES! *fistpump*

Like its counterpart, Lucky Kids is filled with pages of THEEEEEE cutest clothes for the kiddos. They even do a great job of providing cute, trendy options for little boys, as we all know that it’s relatively easy to find fabulous clothes for girls. Boys…..not so much! Love it!!! If you don’t have a copy, get one!!! :-)

Stay Chic….love, Chic PR!

(l to r) Morgan, Kristin, Ericka

This week I had the pleasure of having the owners of Chic Public Relations, a boutique PR firm based out of Annapolis, Maryland, come speak to my fashion marketing classes. Initially hearing about this dynamic duo from one of my students, I was thrilled to have the ladies come talk about marketing and public relations and give my students a real world perspective of the industry. And they did not disappoint! They gave a great presentation about things such as brand launching, brand awareness, event planning, and social media.

Although most of the entrepreneurs we write about are moms, I was so impressed with the Chic PR team that I had to make an exception! If you are ever in need of a PR team, need help planning a special event or product launch, or need assistance  managing social media for your business, I strongly encourage you to call Chic PR! They even do graphic design so if you need a logo or some other graphics for promotional materials, they’ve got you covered. Check them out!

Visit their website www.chicpr.com. You can also follow them on Twitter at www.Twitter.com/ChicPRDC and “like” them on Facebook (Chic Public Relations).

It’s all about the STRIPES!

Mommies….mommies….mommies!!! Let me tell you why I love this swimsuit for us!
First, it’s a one piece and one piece swimsuits are typically mommy friendly!
Second, all of these stripes going in different directions are sure to draw attention AWAY from certain areas we’d rather not draw attention to…if ya know what I mean. ;-)
Third, it’s only $35 and you know how we love a good bargain.
Thank you H & M! The moms across the world appreciate you thinking of us.

Gray is Good!

One of spring’s hottest nail colors is GRAY! Not gun metal gray but nice, soft, springy gray! At first mention, it may sound a little drab but try it! The color looks great on just about everybody and matches with everything. :-) Nails are such a small part of our bodies but they can make a big difference. Go gray!!!

Would you let your kid pose in Vogue like this?

As I visited Style.com (as I often do), I came across an article about Carine Roitfeld’s final issue as the controversial editor of French Vogue. The title intrigued me: French Vogue Grooms Its Youngest Models Yet. Little did I know that the models were little girls who look like they’re between the ages of 6 and 8ish. This takes playing “dress up” to another level. They are draped in fine jewels, fabulous garments, and beautiful heels. And their faces are painted flawlessly with makeup, causing them to look like little teenagers/young women. The question the article poses, Is this too much? What do YOU think mommies? I’m still undecided on the matter. If my 6 1/2 year old daughter had an opportunity to appear in Vogue magazine dressed like an adult fashion model, would I say no? Perhaps I should have an answer but I don’t. She wears makeup and costumes for dance competition. Is that different? Be real….would you let your daughter do it? Something to think about……
